I shovel the steps for an older woman who owns the "Mother-in-Laws" apartment attached to our home.

For years she has had the self adhesive strips on her stairs. At the end of winter there are only a few left because the rest get shoveled along with the snow.

I saw these Handi-Treads on-line and thought that they were the long term solution to good traction. Putting them down (30 of them) was easy. Really impressed with the quality of the tread and the hardware to attach. She said it was the best Christmas present!

Bought these after I saw a friend had installed them and they looked and worked great. These strips replaced some anti-slip tape strips I had applied to my back deck steps after slipping and falling (and nearly breaking my tailbone) last year. Very easy to install and they provide a good amount of traction without being clunky.

These treads are a godsend! If an overweight granny with a bad hip can install these on our porch, ANYONE can. Handi Treads is speaking the plain truth on how well these treads work. My tenants are delighted with the yellow color (easy to see for their sense of safety). I am SO happy after spending 16 years putzing with grit paper and rubber treads. Again, so proud, so pleased and so relieved for the safety!

Have wooden front steps which freeze over easily in winter, like an overpass freezes over before the road. Tried adhesive strips which peeled off, decided plastic things would break, have also tried rubber stair treads which were supposed to "grip" the wood treads, but would shift around. When friend slipped on steps, time to take action and ordered these treads in a brown color to match wooden steps. Aluminum, so will not rust. The metal "grippers" have worked well this winter. I realize over time the paint will become worn, but the grippers will be there. I had to think a bit about the price, but these should last many years. A trip to the hospital for a broken hip, etc. for a 70+ year old couple would cost more and it was winter so we needed to act.
