    Louise M. Slaughter, Liberal Democrat and Champion of women’s rights who represented an upstate New York district in Congress for over three decades, has passed away. She was 88 and in the midst of her 16th term in the House. On March 14, 2018, Slaughter was hospitalized at George Washington University after falling in her Washington D.C. home.     Earlier this week during Hillary Clinton’s visit to Jodphur, India she slipped and fell in a bathtub,  fracturing her wrist. Clinton was staying at the five-star resort Umaid Bhawan Palace when the accident occurred. According to reports the 70-year-old former secretary of the state was taken to a nearby hospital and underwent a CT scan and x-ray confirming the hairline fracture.
